The point that Israel's haters always ignore the Egypt/Gaza border is very valid, and needs to be repeated.

On the other hand, I suppose that the fact that the Gazans are currently hemmed in by the Egyptian military regime, which despises Hamas, doesn't mean that it's ok for Israel to be doing so on the other side. I think what is sometimes lost on the Israeli side is that there are one and a half million human beings living in the small confines of the Gaza strip, who can't that easily get in or out (although it is clearly possible). Life in Gaza is not as unbearable as anti-Israeli propaganda makes it out to be, but clearly there is suffering for the majority. On the other hand, Hamas rules Gaza and they are the same people who were sending people to blow themselves up on Israeli buses only a few years ago. The only thing stopping them from murdering more Israelis is that they lack the capability, and the blockade on various kinds of goods partially enforces that. So I realize that it's complicated and difficult for Israel to alleviate the Gazans' suffering without putting itself in danger. On the other hand, I suspect the Netanyahu government isn't really trying do so anyway.Ji Xianghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03406727999722525339noreply@blogger.com
